National carrier Qantas has unveiled the sixth Indigenous-designed aircraft in its Qantas-Balarinji Flying Art Series.
The new A22O livery features the artwork of renowned Pitjantjatjara artist Maringka Baker – Minyma Kutjara Tjukurpa – that tells the Creation Story of the Two Sisters. Featuring over 2O,OOO dots (the most complex livery Airbus has ever completed for this aircraft type), this will also be the first time a Qantas plane flies with a non-red tail.
Congratulations to Maringka, her family, Tjungu Palya and all those involved in the project – well deserved recognition for such a talented and important artist.
