MAREE CLARKE | MAD MURATE ART DISTRICT ARTISTIC RESIDENCY & EXHIBITION, FLORENCE

28.03.2024

Maree Clarke has recently arrived in Florence, Italy for a four week artistic residency project at MAD Murate Art District, along with curator Renata Summo O’Connell of Artegiro Contemporary Art.  The project is in collaboration with the Museum of Anthropology and Ethnology of Florence, the University of Florence, and the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence.

The residency aims to create site-specific installations capable of engaging in a dialogue with the community and the Arno River.  Along with her own art-making during this time, Maree will also be engaging in multiple workshops to connect her art with the local young artist community.

The work culminating from the residency will be exhibited in a show curated by Valentina Gensini and Renata Summo O’Connell at MAD Murate Art District until 28.O7.2O24, and will be free to the public.
