In a new article titled Beyond Brokenness: is motherhood too big a subject for art?, by Lauren Carroll Harris, Hayley Millar Baker shares her thoughts on motherhood as a Gunditjmara artist and parent of two children.
Hayley notes, “[When my firstborn] Maeve was about four months old, I saw motherhood – for me, an Aboriginal woman – as defiant.”
