FIRST PEOPLES MELBOURNE ART TRAMS

22.06.2024

If you’re in Melbourne, keep an eye out for the new fleet of First Peoples Melbourne Art Trams travelling across Naarm as part of RISING Melbourne 2O24.

This year’s program has been curated by Jarra Karalinar Steel (Boonwurrung/Wemba Wemba), including tribute trams featuring works from trailblazing artists Destiny Deacon (Ku Ku/Erub Mer) and Ellen José (Torres Strait Islander), as well as new pieces by Thomas Day (Gunditjmara/Yorta Yorta/Wemba Wemba), Kait James (Wadawurrung), Milla Morgan (Wiradjuri/Yorta Yorta) and Iluka Sax-Williams (Taungurung).

The Blak on Track selections are a movable tapestry of mediums, styles and ideas – a celebration of the breadth and dynamism of First Peoples expression enriching the city.

These trams will be riding the tracks until June 2O25.
