CONGRATULATIONS JAMES TYLOR WINNER OF THE 2O25 TATIARA ART PRIZE

04.10.2025

We are excited to share that James Tylor has won the 2O25 Tatiara Art Prize for his work Tapa-arra through the landscape. The work highlights connections between Kaurna people and neighbouring nations in South Australia and beyond, capturing historical roads, with images cut in half to symbolise the path of least resistance. The artwork encourages viewers to think about the history, travel, and connections that are part of the local land.

The 2O25 Tatiara Art Prize was judged by Leigh Robb, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Art Gallery of South Australia; Ashleigh Whatling, Director of the Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre in the City of Mount Gambier; and Alanah Brand, a contemporary portrait painter and previous finalist of the Prize.

We congratulate James, and the other award recipients: Henry Jock Walker, Kate Kurucz and Jaime Prosser.
