Congratulations to gallery represented artist Naomi Hobson, who has won the 2O25 Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award for best Work on Paper for her work Present & beyond (2O24).

“Present & Beyond is a new work in my photographic series Life on the River. The work shows a young local boy from Coen. He is confident within himself and secure in the knowledge that his present and his future are intertwined in the deep past where others before him walked and rested in safety. I am fixated on the reflections that our Ancestors occupied this very space, and am amazed at how far we have come in sharing space over time. I am capturing time and a history where images begin to travel between the past, the present, and beyond.” – Naomi Hobson

We also congratulate the recipients of other Award categories, including Gaypalani Wanambi, winner of the Telstra Art Award (the big one), as well as Iluwanti Ken, Owen Yalandja, Lucy Yarawanga, Jahkarli Felicitas Romanis and Sonia Gurrpulan Guyula, and gallery represented and exhibited finalists Kent Morris, Carbiene McDonald Tjangala, Conway Ginger, Nicholas Hovington and Ned Grant.
