MITCH MAHONEY’S ART TRAM FOR RISING FESTIVAL

Mitch Mahoney is part of RISING Festival’s new art trams series that celebrates the power of Blak imagination and presents artworks by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists with connections to Victoria.

Curated by Taungurung woman Kate ten Buuren, this year’s edition includes work by Natasha Carter (Dja Dja Wurrung, Yorta Yorta and Jaru), Mitch Mahoney (Boonwurrung and Barkindji), Jenna Mayilema Lee (Larrakia, KarraJarri, Wardaman), Zena Zada Cumpston (Barkandji/Kurnu) and Sonja Hodge (Lardil).

The trams are on the tracks for the next 12 months.

First Peoples Melbourne Art Trams are presented as part of RISING, in partnership with Public Transport Victoria, Yarra Trams and Creative Victoria.
