Kent Morris recently spoke to his new major commission for the CSL Seqirus Project Banksia adjacent to Melbourne Airport, introducing the staff to his artistic practice and the significance of Indigenous knowledges.
The building project set objectives to achieve a Green Star-rated premises as well as incorporate Indigenous interpretations into the landscape design.
Kent was tasked with creating site-specific artwork and wallpaper to acknowledge Indigenous culture and traditions, the success of which led to his design language being carried into the landscape with his distinctive paving motifs, seamlessly connecting the interior and exterior spaces of the building.
CSL Seqirus is the second-largest influenza vaccine provider globally, and plans to supply influenza vaccines to Australia and the rest of the world with its new world-class biotech manufacturing facility in Tullamarine. The state-of-the-art facility is set to be operational by mid-2O26.
