Alison Purunatameri — Nginingilwawa Winga Ngima

In Nginingilwawa Winga Ngima (My feelings of how I see the sea), Alison Puruntatameri presents a new body of bark paintings centered on the Winga (tidal movement). The exhibition reflects the shifting coastal environment of the Tiwi Islands and the profound connection between the sea, hunting, and seasonal change. Puruntatameri translates ceremonial body painting and cultural knowledge into striking contemporary abstraction through layered geometric fields and finely combed mark-making.
