A huge congratulations to Papunya Tjupi artist Doris Bush Nungarrayi – winner of the Art Gallery of New South Wales’s $40,000 Sulman Prize (for a genre painting, subject painting or mural projectt) for her painting Mamunya ngalyananyi (Monster coming).

Congratulations also to Sydney artist Julia Gutman for winning the Archibald Prize for her portrait of singer-songwriter Montaigne, and APY artist Zaachariaha Fielding winning the Wynne Prize for his depiction of music and movement on Country.

Commendations to all the finalists, including Naomi Hobson, Katjarra Butler, Joanne Napangardi Wheeler, and Timothy Cook, all of whom will be exhibited at the Art Gallery of NSW from tomorrow.
