The William and Winifred Bowness Photography Prize 2O24 winner announcement and exhibition launch will take place this coming Thursday 12.O9.2O24 at the Museum of Australian Photography. The $3O,OOO overall winner’s prize and three Colour Factory honourable mentions will be announced from a pool of 74 shortlisted works, as well as the Wai Tang Commissioning Award of $1O,OOO that will provide its recipient the opportunity to exhibit a body of work throughout next year’s Bowness Photography Prize season.
Gallery-represented artists Kent Morris and Naomi Hobson are both finalists in this year’s prize. With large-scale installations through to meticulous daguerreotypes, the shortlisted works canvass sculptural, digital and analogue photography. The pool of finalists demonstrates the expansive and captivating range of creative photographic work being made in Australia today.
